Wellington 28th August.

An August bank holiday and finally some August weather!  A lovely hot and sunny Monday saw Tim at Wellington with a smart bunch of horses.

Normally these days don’t work out so well.  Tim has been away, its a long drive home, an early start for yet another event, he hasn’t ridden the horses for a chunk of the week..but today was magic!  Kincooley Cruising ( Minnie) is quite the superstar these days and a 24 dressage, a rail in the notoriously spooky Wellington showjumping arena followed by a swift clear in the time cross country was good enough for 8th in a hot OI competition.  Pats Jester ( PJ) is also stepping up to the plate again and again and he showed that he enjoyed Haras du Pin CIC three star with a 28, a clear showjumping and just 2 time faults cross country for 11th in his OI. The star of the day though was Providores ( Bruno) who was simply awesome in his intermediate for a 29 dressage and a double clear to finish on it and 2nd place. That qualifies him for Gatcombe Intermediate Championships next year which will no doubt suit him down to the ground being a kiwi TB….

And the lovely Xavier Faer, ( Hugo), in an unusual move but in a nod to his “Groundhog day” mentality, went to Wellington to dressage and showjump the OI only.  He did this beautifully with a 26 and a clear round but he has simply no idea whatsoever that he heads up North to Burghley tomorrow for the biggest start of his career to date!  He has Pau and Badminton under his belt but Burghley is Burghley and it is going to be very exciting with Tim having two horses there that have both had top three finishes at 4 star under their belts.
