Rolex Kentucky 28th April

Dressage day for Tim and Ozzie… weather looked great, Jonelle had arrived after a bit of a nightmare journey from New York which was delayed for various resons, one of them being to deliver a US fallen soldier home which Jonelle was reported in a US interview to have said “put the journey into perspective” so no complaints on that score…how humbling for all of us.

Ringwood Sky Boy ( Ozzie) and Tim have posted sub 40 scores twice at 4 star level so hopes were high. The trot work had them on a similar percenatge to Clark Montgomery and Loughan Glen ( leading on 33) but a tiny error into the halt before the rein back sent Ozzie into a spin of over compensation to make it right and they were struggling to catch up after that. 3 out of 4 solid changes helped but the final score of 46.9 and 17th place is not what Tim would have been aiming for.

Its still less than 20 xc penalties off the lead and everything to play for tomorrow. I have not spoken to Tim or Jonelle so I have no idea what their plans are but I am sure that Tim will head out on track tomorow determined to show that runner up spot at Burghley was no fluke!

And on one last note, if anyone was watching FEI TV Tim and Ozzie fell on the flat going long at the gate in Rio, not over the gate as John Kyle said twice on FEI TV today!

Fingers crossed for Tim and Ozzie cross country day tomorrow. We will be hoping that FEI TV is working and we get to watch…
