And then the sun came out and Pau looked like Pau should do today! Glorious sunshine with blue skies and people in T shirts….
Wesko (Dash) has done some super tests in his time but today he simply owned the arena as he showed all of his experience to really show off his paces as best he could. It was so obvious that Dash is relishing being back in the big time again and he and Tim could not have looked more on song together if they tried.
They started off with a 9 for their entry from one judge and the trot work was foot perfect. Tom McEwen had preceded them with Toledo de Kerser and his score of 25 had taken the lead but Tim was on a par with him throughout the test as he also trended around the 25/26 mark. The canter work was accurate and obedient with super changes and another 9 was awarded for the stretchy circle. It was looking neck and neck score wise until the final halt which was a little unfair as not a half second after had Dash put his front feet together did the crowd erup in cheers which frightened Dash so he spun sideways and that resulted in two 6.5’s which was a shame!
Tom leads on 25 and Tim sits second on 25.6. Tim also is best of the two horse riders with Ascona M ( Ava) sitting very handily in 7th so a very successful conclusion to the dressage phase and a happy team heading into Saturday’s cross country test. Jonelle has flown out to support and she timed her arrival perfectly with the weather showing a marked improvement with plenty of sunshine to come over the weekend.
The only way to view the cross country livestream is via https://horseandcountry.tv but it isn’t free…you can subscribe for £5.99 a month or £59 for 12 months subscription.
