In the murk and mist of the early morning at the base of the Pyrenees  Tim and Ascona M ( Ava) emerged out of the gloom looking almost ghost like on the live stream! It may have been Ava’s debut at this level but she made it look as though she has been at 4 star for a while with a smooth and polished performance.

Some really super trot work was well rewarded score wise before a tiny jog in an otherwise relaxed walk was the only blip.  The canter work looked balanced and with lovely changes and ground covering extensions a mark of 25.3 was good enough for her to take the lead at that stage and she stayed right up there to end up in 4th spot out of some 60 starters!  Scoring 75% at four star is a pretty big deal, especially when its your first gig! Tim really did use all his tact and diplomacy to encourage the notoriously tricky Ava to not only stay on side but to show off her paces as well.

Meanwhile Sue Benson, owner of Falco, has put his Vimeo video up on her facebook page of Falco and Tim’s round at Bicton last weekend.  Its pretty cool to watch as Falco gets 10 for effort at every fence and is obviously still very much in love with the game and a really cool way to end his season.
