Nothing is simple in this post Brexit/Pandemic world but there are for sure a few sharks circling making the most of it. The PCR testing which is a major requirement for International travel is not just ridiculously expensive at around £100-to £199 per person but is also totally unregulated so simply anyone can set themselves up as a ‘tester’ and make some money. The bank holiday Monday saw the scuppering of Jonelle’s carefully planned postal testing so a mass gathering several miles away was required prior to departure for Millstreet as the time lines are very defined.
As if that did not take enough precious hours out of the departure day the much re planning to get to Luhmuhlen was also on the cards. You cannot currently travel to Germany from the UK so it was a scramble to organise the Millstreet/ Mere Farm horses bound for Luhmuhlen to stay in Europe. Hats off to Jonelle who has sorted a blinder with the Midi coming home from Rosslare with the young horses, the Maxi travelling on from Dublin to Cherbourg with the Luhmuhlen bound horses to base with Tim Lips in Breda before going onto Luhmuhlen and with Senza Fine and Vitali coming out on a transporter from the UK to join them next week. 2021 has been a challenge for sure!
Out in Millstreet Team Price have 9 horses, all of which do dressage tomorrow ( Friday). The journey was not anywhere near as smooth as it used to be with a 3 hour delay in Rosslare docks thanks to Brexit but Tim did comment that the Irish vet there was super nice. And added that all the horses had travelled exceptionally well. The Millstreet Facebook page will have live streaming of the dressage tomorrow and the times, in GST are as follows:
Falco 8.06, Spartaco 9.54, Curly Girl 10.37, Faerie Magnifico 12.27, McClaren 4pm, Ozzie 4.06, Faerie Dianimo 5.36 Ascona M 5.54, Killbunny Andy 7.06. That’s quite the day of dressage!
