Wall to wall sunshine on Thursday at Lignieres and a bit more unsettled today but the rain forecast for Saturday looks to be shifting to Sunday. All good news for the crew out there.
Jonelle was busy on Thursday with her two 4*S contenders with Coup de Coeur Dudevin (Joker) going early in the competition and yet again producing a super test for 28.4 to lie in 3rd just 0.5 off the lead. Joker is storming up the ranks as Jonelle’s next big thing! Faerie Magnifico ( George) left his alter ego in the warm up ( Geoffrey) and produced more of what he is capable of with allot more work and allot more Jonelle time than he gets at the one days for a 30.7 to lie in 5th. As Jonelle said, you can go head to head with George at a three day and come out the other side….with half sister Faerie Dianimo (Maggie May) its more a 50/50 chance!
Another couple of rides today for Jonelle with Full Monty de Lacense (FM) in his first international in the 2*S. It’s a huge step up from his first BE 100 back in the summer just before Tokyo and the whole concept of travelling, stabling away and a 20 x 60 arena on a surface compared to the grass 20 x 40 of WWEC and Cornbury are allot to take in for a young horse. His mates Cooley Seeing Magic (Guthrie) and Fernhill Kankan are out on holiday and FM is flying the flag for the 2021 100-to-novice group alone. His score of 33 (67%) is perfectly acceptable and he will have come along way in terms of education and he is another future star for the stable.
Tim is in a happy place with just the one ride this week. Susan Lamb’s and Terry Miller’s precociously talented Happy Boy is usually close to the lead in France and today was no exception with a score of 30.2 which sees him just 2.8 off the lead in his first 4*L. Snapping at his heels is another up and coming, Jonelle and Killbunny Andy who sit in 4th for a 31 in their first 4*L so its all systems go for a Team Price head to head this weekend!
The results are a bit buried.. here is the link: Scroll down to Lignieres.
