Lignieres CCI 2 star ends early....& CIC 1 star

Despite the best efforts of all the fairytale end to Tim and Jonelle’s 2 star at Ligniere have taken an early nosedive as team Price are officially on a morning off!

Spartaco had to relinquish his leading position and Jonelle’s Grappa Nera ( Grape) didn’t get her chance to see if she could beat the handsome grey over the coloured poles today. Both horses are absolutely fine and will be going out on their winter holidays as soon as they come home but both had little nicks which affected their jog this morning.  That is the nature of the long format competition and it is pretty annoying when it happens but as always its about the welfare of the horse.

Spartacus has proved beyond doubt this season that he is not only a winner but a proper horse for the higher levels of eventing and it will be fun to watch him step up to advanced next year.  Grape has turned a massive corner with her dressage.. her jump and athleticism has never been in doubt…and that is really the bigger picture.

Although it would have been nice to score  a win…

In the CIC 1 star Tim and Ascona M ( Ava) went cross country this afternoon and picked up a politically correct 7.6 time to finish in 12th.  All boxes ticked, Ava has had some lovely sunshine on her back and a nice spin round an easy track with a big dressage arena and a good showjumping practice as well.  Tim just has Pau CCI 4 star left with Ava and Jonelle just a one day with the babies and Le Lion D’Angers with Hester.  It really is beginning to feel like the back end of the season!
