Le Lion d'Angers

Le Lion d'Angers

Tim and Happy Boy splashed their way through the jog on Wednesday afternoon at a very sodden Le Lion d’Angers.  Happy actually does look happy and he is no doubt enjoying being the centre of attention being Tim’s sole competition ride as he takes up the challenge of the World Championships for 7 year olds.

He does have much wisdom and advice to hand however as Wesko ( Dash) and Ascona M (Ava) are stabled next door to him as Le Lion is their Pau prep.  Dash missed out on Le Lion as he started eventing as an 8 year old and whilst Ava has contested the Blenheim 8/9 year olds twice she also missed out on Le Lion.  Happy has a rather unique sense of humour which borders on the sadistic (he knows his teeth are not just for eating with for example!) so it is hoped he will get his advice from Dash as Ava’s limitless talents are tempered by her total disregard for conformity…. Happy would make Tim’s life much easier if he took the Goody Two Shoes route for sure.

He certainly looked the part at the jog having been lovingly prepared by his staff members for the week, Jess and Millie. He is a good looking horse with tonnes of ability so should be in with a shout this week and it’s always a privilege to have a horse at Lion as they really are the cream of their yearbook.

Happy is smack bang in the middle of the field and has his dressage as 1st of the second day 7 year olds at 1pm on Friday.  There is a livestream on www.mondialdulion.com
