Kentucky Showjumping

I think if you has asked us a week ago if we would take a podium spot at Kentucky we would have said yes with TP and Hugo.  For sure. That was the goal in flying him out there, to be top 3.  After that you cant plan for logistics or any of the multiples that apply to taking a horse to a 5 star on another continent!

Tim and Hugo posted an amazing 3rd at Badminton in 2017.  They then picked up an annoying 20 XC at Burghley when in contention for the top 10 and 2018 saw a lay off after Hugo was kicked in his holiday field by his childhood pony friend and suffered a hairline fracture of his front leg. Just an OI at Aston and a CIC 4 star at Chatsworth was his entire season. This year they have nailed their 5 star prep with 3 runs back to back and a trip out to Kentucky which actually went to plan!

Huge kudos to Megan Taylor who has looked after Hugo….Huge shout out to Tim who rode Hugo and  massive shout to Owner Breeder Trisha Rickards as well as Owner Nigella Hall. We wanted to win. We will take 3rd with a smile on our face and offer congrats to Ollie Townend and Boyd Martin who all finished on their dressage scores to beat us.

We will be back.  And we love Hugo and salute Tim Price who got the job done and look forward to Burghley!
