The rain in Spain may fall mainly in Vejer de la Frontera but there are still plenty of smiling faces as no doubt Tim and Jonelle, being hardy eventers, are coping better than the jumpers!  No one who went to Ballindenisk last Autumn could possibly compare that bog/mud/epic rain/hideous conditions with a few showers in the south of Spain!

Jonelle said this morning that all of the horses are behaving really well and as always its the young horses like Mr Cin Cin and Gino Gingerino ( Gino) who literally grow up before their eyes on this tour.  Tim has had fun getting to know Up in the Air ( Harry) more and Harry is beginning to trust Tim and give his best.  Spartaco ( Spartacus) is an old hand at this game and enjoys it and Jonelle describes Cloud Dancer (Marley) as “her shining light” which is really lovely!

The FEI rule on limiting each rider to two horses per class has been slightly annoying and this week it was Hester who had to step up to the 1m 25 in order for a couple of Jonelle’s younger horses like Carrick Aldato Girl ( Cabbage) to get into the 1m 20.  Classic Moet (Molly) has had to jump the big classes on all the starts but hopefully when she canters into the showjumping at Badminton in May it will seem like the proverbial showjumping track!
