A gloriously sunny day at Chatsworth which was nice as the ERM showjumping didn’t start til after 1 o’ clock so there was plenty of time to walk the cross country and see how the other 3 star classes were riding.

Faerie Dianimo ( Maggie May ) and Jonelle bounded into the showjumping arena looking more than ready to tackle Di Boddy’s track.  The main arena looked to be the biggest casualty of the wet spring with a whole section roped off in the middle as not rideable.  It certainly looked to be fairly tacky going and an over enthusiastic Maggie May ran down one line just a bit to fast for a rail.

Xavier Faer ( Hugo) looked as if he found the going harder work and he jumped some super fences but, unusually for him, had two rails.  It has been a long time since Hugo has seen a main arena and he gets better and better throughout the season.

Hugo was then early out on the cross country and he gave a dazzling display of his stride and scope.  Tim had obviously decided to use the course for fitness purposes and he came home with just 5 time which ended up being the 4th fastest of the day… whilst all the while never getting out of his comfort zone.

Maggie May was a bit more feisty but she looked brilliant as always and loved every moment of the hilly terrain.  Whether taking a flyer or jumping cat like through tricky combinations her flamboyant style is so individual and she always looks as though she is having so much fun!
