Burghley Friday

Burghley Friday

Jonelle and Faerie Dianimo (Maggie May) and Tim and Ringwood Sky Boy (Ozzie) had a fairly hectic schedule today as not including the riding and prepping for their dressage they also had various sponsor commitments, interviews to record with the BBC, press commitments and a never ending stream of requests and visits.

The sun seemed to have departed us today but Maggie May worked well in her pre warm up and then as we headed up to the top for her test the clouds began to gather. Maggie assured everyone she was on perfect form with a display of acrobatics in the lakeside warm up before she settled in the collecting ring and she then went in the arena and promptly scored a 10 for her first halt from President of the Ground Jury Nick Burton for her entry and halt.  Nice work Princess. They then executed a vibrant and dynamic test with fabulous trot extensions to end up with a 28.4 which left them in overall 7th.  Job done.  Maggie May stalked back to the stables and left the afternoon to Tim who was prepping Ozzie for another shot at the Burghley crown.

Ozzie gave it his best shot and as last horse of the day also got lucky.  The heavens had opened as soon as Maggie May left the arena and by the time that Ozzie came out so had the sun. It seemed the weather Gods were smiling on Team Price and our gorgeous Ozzie wowed his loyal owner Varenna Allen with a 28.7 to finish up in equal 9th spot.

3 inside the top 11 for team Price and that’s pretty cool…and with Xavier Faer ( Hugo ) just a few points adrift in the top 20.  The ground is perfect, the weather conditions are perfect for 5 star so lets hope for a great day tomorrow.
