The rain has continued on and off but Cekatinka managed to order some sunshine for her test and she really did sparkle in the arena! Tim had timed it perfectly, she was hot enough to dazzle but sensible enough to do everything that Tim asked of her. The trot work was trending on a 35 and the only blip was a tiny jog in the walk which Tim said was caused by some clapping in one of the hospitality tents behind him. It really was a superb display and his 4th slot was well deserved and a score of 39.7 was good enough for 5th place and just 2 points off the lead.
The forecast for cross country day is more rain and Tim will have a long wait until he and Tinka set out but the really good news is that New Zealand are sitting in the lead in the CCIO by a whopping 7 points. Germany don’t often not have the lead after the dressage so here is hoping we extend that lead tomorrow.
