A busy day at Blenheim with the ERM showjumping in the main arena to start the day off.  Jonelle and Classic Moet ( Molly) clearly relished being back in the spot light and jumped a fabulous round with just one back rail of an oxer falling when Molly went extra high and slightly dwelt in the air to catch it on the way down.  They did add 3 time but we have seen the ERM showjumping times be really tight all season so no one was particularly bothered by that.  Tim and Ascona M ( Ava) went a bit later and whilst being uber talented Ava is not the most straightforward of rides and Tim had to go to work a bit to make it happen! Just the front rail of the triple bar came down which several people were very quick to point out to Tim was the lowest rail on the course!

While Jonelle was heading out as pathfinder on the ERM cross country the 8 / 9 year olds CIC 3 star was showjumping up in the main arena.  Molly and Jonelle sped out of the start box and had a brilliant round up until the arrowhead out of the coffin three quarters of the way round where for the first time ever in her career Molly had a run out for a 20.  While we were all quite shocked it turned out to be something that we would see much more of as quite a few top horses as well as greener ones misread the fence and ran past it.  They finished looking happy and I am not sure which one of them had more fun!

Tim and Cooley Showtime ( Eddie) jumped as pathfinder in the 8/9 CIC3 and they just tapped a rail out for 4 faults.  Kincooley Cruising ( Minnie) also tapped out a rail but the experience of jumping in such a huge international arena is such a positive thing for the 8 year olds to do.

Back down at the ERM cross country start Tim and Ava set out looking like they meant to end up on the ERM podium and they had a blinder of a round.  The partnership that they have developed this season is really strong and Ava answered very question that Tim put to her with seriously quick reactions. Only Tim and Chris Burton made time all day and Tim was pictured pushing Burto off the podium to claim his spot!

It was good enough for Tim to remain in 2nd place with just Issy Taylor and Be Touchable retaining her pole position which she had held since the dressage to beat him.  It was a great end to a fun and busy day and good to see Tim nearly drowning in champagne!

Sunday morning saw Tim and Eddie trailblazing for the CIC cross country and the ever cheeky Eddie was bouncing up and down at the start box with Tim doing a good job to settle him down and wait for the count down.  You cant help but love Eddie with his boundless talent and his charming cheekiness but he is as sharp as a tack and despite simply cruising round the first half of the course he saw a tiny window of opportunity in the first lake crossing and ducked past the triple brush arrowhead in the water.  It is a new trick and a naughty one!  He popped the alternative and then made the rest of the course look as easy as the first part and cantered round with a cool look on his face!

Minnie isn’t running cross country so an early finish for the team and they can pack up and head home.  Tim and Jonelle both have rides at Pontispool tomorrow before they head across the Irish sea for Ballindenisk on Tuesday.
