Blenheim International 15th September

Blenheim International 15th September

First up today was Jonelle who made an impressive return to FEI competition just 4 weeks and 2 days after Otis was born on the 16th of August.  Classic Moet ( Molly) was also having a baptism of fire as she did Gatcombe OI last weekend and then rocked up at her first international a whole year down the line from Burghley 2016!

The girls did good… Molly had a bit of a moment in the first half pass which was not pretty as she stuck her head up in the air and looked like a munter for enough seconds to allow the judges to realise the contact was possibly an issue!  But they wanted to score her and she did enough good work to score 47.3 which everyone was happy with and Jonelle saying that she was also really pleased with her… a sub 50 after a year out of the big dressage arena is good!

Ascona M (Ava) is a superstar.  She simply owns the arena when she is onside and Isobel Wessel’s, our Team NZ dressage coach who is a CDI 5 star judge ( that’s Olympic and World Championships to you and I) was furious that she did not lead the class as she said she deserved 9’s for her half passes alone.  Mistake free and exceptionally good was Isobel’s call.. a score of 38.6 leaves Ava and Tim just 3.1 off the lead in 5th place.

Showjumping and cross country tomorrow… and Scooby Do on the lead photo.. what more could you ask for?!
