In the ERM dressage there was more Prancing horses than Dancing horses as both Wesko ( Dash) and Cloud Dancer ( Marley) barely scraped 70% which was quite the surprise!  Mr Reliable ( Dash) turned into Mr Electric as he was full of beans and Tim’s quote was very spot on…. He said that there was a Porche under Dash’s skin ( maybe that explains the girth size!) and sometimes it purrs and sometimes it revs and today was a rev day.

Jonelle was far more practical.  Marley has been got super fit for Blair’s hills and she simply said ” The wee bugger was far too fresh”.  Fair enough.  And although there was some sunshine at Blair on Saturday it was a far cry from the 30 degrees plus we have been having and while I might have 30 as my ideal operating temperature it is not most horses ideal and no doubt these two were loving the cooler weather.

They both still lie in the top 10 and Tim is well in touch for a podium finish to the ERM series… and it is set to pour with rain on Sunday so that always shakes things up a bit!

Shaking things up a bit in the CCI 3 star were both Pats Jester ( PJ) and Cooley Showtime ( Eddie).  Only the top 3 in this class made time and that is quite the line up with Tom McEwen and Strike Smartly and Izzy Taylor with Director General less than 2 points ahead of Tim and PJ. Those three have a rail in hand over the rest of the class and all to play for in the showjumping on Sunday.  PJ must have been class around the hilly and tough track and Tim would have been delighted with him. He is pictured at Gatcombe where he also excelled on the hills but I am sure Blair was much greener!

Eddie and Jonelle have not had the greatest of luck in this season so far and he has a unique way of jumping water which is fairly unseating to say the least.  Eddie thinks it pretty cool to launch bravely out and then land jarringly back feet first which not only fires Jonelle out of the saddle but mucks up the striding to the next element. Jonelle did mention that there was a big drop into the water but they clearly negotiated it very well as she and Eddie skimmed around with just 4.4 time to rise right up the leaderboard to 6th place.

Plenty of fun to be had in the rain tomorrow!
