Another set of dressage tests and another stunning day at Barbury with wall to wall blue skies and an amazing backdrop with the novice cross country running all day.
It was a return to normal for the Price horses today as both Tim and Jonelle were firmly back in the top 10 of the leaderboard with great tests on both of their horses. Tim and Falco looked beautiful outside and then somewhat unpredictable as Falco did some of his dancing moves which involves waving his front legs in the air at anyone who cares to watch. Having wowed the pretty bored crowd ( there is only so much 2 star dressage anyone can watch over 2 days) he then settled down for a super test and coped well with the sloping arena and the undulations for a great score of 28.9 and 6th spot.
Jonelle had Cooley Showtime ( Eddie) also in the CIC 2 star as he heads out to Jardy for the ERM CIC 3 next. Eddie would be correct in thinking that 2 star is a tad beneath him these days but then he saw plenty of 4 star horses heading to Burghley using it as a warm up event so he put on his good boy face and cracked out a 26 which also left him 3 places ahead of Falco for third. This would have been hugely satisfying for Eddie as one of his main aims in life in getting one up on his mates. I saw him digging a hole at the truck this morning and then realised that the aim of the exersize was not so much to dig the hole but to flick dirt in the face of his neighbour as he did it! That is bad boy Eddie all over… he is a hoot.
