Wow what a day! The sun shone, the wind dropped, it seemed light years away from shivering on top of the hill at squad training on Monday!

Tim always has a plan worked out with pre rest rides and scheduled times with Isobel Wessels and everything went to plan with Ringwood Sky Boy.  Even so, we all gasped when Ozzzie cantered down the centre line and halted! It may have been a brief “Anky” style of halt but all four feet stopped moving and stood square and that was good enough for a great start to the test.

And so it continued!  The halt before the rein back and the final halt were both good enough for a 9 and the work in between was just magic.  When Ozzie lets Tim ride him he belies his conformation to look soft, round and really connected.  He has produced a fabulous test at Burghley before but he has never done so at Badminton in the past and this was a PB of a 25.8 which in real terms, and more significantly, is just 1.9 off the lead.  In old scoring that would have been a 38.7 to give it some real perspective!

As Jonelle said, maybe at 15 years old Ozzie is finally letting go of his demons.  Or maybe it was the lack of snapping flags, bracing winds and grey and gloomy skies!

Jonelle and Classic Moet ( Molly) go at 12.22 tomorrow and Molly is certainly ready to go.  And go and go!
